Which areas do you cover?
We cover three zones across the North East.
Zone A: SR1, SR2, SR3, SR4, SR5, SR6, SR7. NE31, NE32, NE33, NE34, NE35, NE36, NE37, NE38.
Zone B: SR8, TS29, TS28, TS27, TS26, TS25, TS24, TS23, TS22, TS21, TS20, TS19, TS18, TS17, TS16, TS11, TS10, TS9, TS8, TS7, TS6, TS5, TS4, TS3, TS2, TS1.
Zone C: DH1, DH4, DH5, DH6, DH7, DL1, DL2, DL3, DL5, DL16, DL17 (Darlington, Newton Aycliffe, Spennymoor).
We do not cover Bishop Auckland.
What about other postcode areas?
We are sorry, but we only cover the areas listed above at present.
How much are lessons?
£60 for 90 minutes.
£80 for 2 hours.
£295 for 5 x 90 minute lessons.
£390 for 10 hours.

What are normal working hours?
It depends on the individual instructor.
Some of us start at 7am, others at 9am.
Most usually finish no later than 5pm.
Do you work unsociable hours?
Some of us work after 5pm and quite a few of us work weekends too.
Specify your availability on the form so we can match you with the right instructor.
Do you do special deals?
There are no special offers currently available, although that does change from time to time.
Do you provide intensive courses?
Not at the moment.
What is the first lesson in advance policy?
DrewMatic operates a strict First Lesson In Advance policy.
All first lessons with us must be paid for 48 hours in advance. The policy is non-negotiable and applies to everyone. Payment options can be discussed with your instructor.
All lessons after your first must also be paid 48 hours in advance, unless your instructor agrees alternative arrangements with you.
I’ve already booked my driving test. Can I have a few lessons and take my test in one of your cars?
DrewMatic policy is extremely strict on this.
WE ARE NOT A DRIVING TEST TAXI SERVICE.
You cannot book a few lessons with us and expect to take a test using one of our vehicles. It is unfair to all our regular customers who have worked hard to be ready for test, and it is one of the reasons, in our opinion, why driving test waiting lists are so long.
We will not consider anyone under any circumstances on this basis, nor will we enter into any correspondence whatsoever regarding this policy.

Just complete the enquiry form below.
We use software that will match you to the instructor who has availability and can match your schedule.
If there is an instructor available you can expect a call within 8 hours. If you do not get a call or message, you can proceed on the basis that there is nobody who has space and you have been placed on a waiting list.
What happens after I complete the enquiry form?
Please read this carefully – it answers most queries we get afterwards.
If you have entered your email address correctly, you will get an acknowledgement email.
Check your spam folder too, occasionally our emails go there.
If you have not heard back from us within 8 hours, it means there is no instructor available for you and you will be placed on the waiting list. Some instructors respond immediately, others wait until they are home at the end of the day.
You are not contractually obliged to wait for us to call. We encourage everyone to keep phoning round other driving schools.
If there is space available, DrewMatic instructors will send one text message and make one call to you.
If you do not respond within 24 hours, your enquiry will be closed, moved to the bottom of the list, and the instructor will move on to the next customer.
